Wildlife photographer and retired veterinarian Dr. Lou Newman will hold an opening reception for his photography exhibit, “Wildlife Images from Near and Far,” from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Plymouth Harbor’s Mezzanine Gallery, 700 John Ringling Blvd. The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 3.
The exhibit is Newman’s third at Plymouth Harbor. Last year’s exhibit featured photographs of Florida birds, and, although the majority of the 42 pictures in this year’s exhibit are Florida birds, the show also features birds from outside the state, along with other forms of wildlife.
Newman is a Plymouth Harbor resident. His photographs of the swan family at the Harbour Links golf course at the Longboat Key Club and Resort appeared in the May 21 issue of The Longboat Observer.
