Douglas Leo Schmidt, 54, of Longboat Key, died May 10.
Born March 31, 1956, he was a former resident of Potomac, Md. He was a graduate of New College and a Sarasota Realtor.
Mr. Schmidt is survived by his parents, David and Colleen, of Longboat Key, and brother, Dave, of Key Biscayne. A private service will be held for family. Memorial contributions can be made to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, tidewell.org.
