Longboat Key Police Chief Al Hogle has been informed that United States Census workers will be on Longboat Key through Friday, May 14.
The workers will be performing verification work by contacting Key residents that were non-responders to the census mail request. The census workers, Hogle says, expect to be on the island for approximately two weeks.
All census workers will have identification and will only be on the Key during daylight hours.
The census workers, which are based in Sarasota, can be reached at 308-8340 if residents have any questions.
If there are any questions or issues with the census workers, notify the police department dispatcher at 316-1977, and an officer will be dispatched to verify their identity and resolve any issues.
