Vonda Clayton, 95, of Bradenton and formerly of Longboat Key, died April 22.
Born Aug. 17, 1914, in Philadelphia, she later moved to Oswego, N.Y. She worked for most of her life as a secretary, and after she and her husband, Orville, moved to Longboat Key in 1967, she spent 14 years working as the head of Tropicana’s health-insurance department.
Mrs. Clayton loved spending her free time on Longboat Key’s beaches. She was an active volunteer for Longboat Key Turtle Watch.
Mrs. Clayton is survived by her husband, Orville, of Bradenton, and son, David, of Rhode Island.
A memorial service will take place in June.
