Longboat Key Police Chief Pete Cumming informed Town Manager Dave Bullock Monday, April 1 that Administrative Captain Bill Tokajer has accepted the position of police chief for the city of Holmes Beach. Tokajer will be reporting to his new post on Monday, April 8. Cumming has appointed Officer Frank Rubino to assume Tokajer's responsibilities as administrative captain.
Tokajer has served as a patrol officer, detective, patrol sergeant, lieutenant, a captain, a major, an accreditation manager and a deputy chief with the Bradenton Police Department. The late Longboat Key Police Chief Al Hogle hired Tokajer in March 2011.
