Town Manager Bruce St. Denis sent an e-mail to the Town Commission and the Planning and Zoning Board on Friday, announcing that the planning board’s 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, meeting is being moved from Town Hall to Temple Beth Israel.
Wrote St. Denis: “I am getting a sense that these hearings will generate more interest (people) than was originally anticipated."
St. Denis said he has proposed that the town, the Longboat Key Club and Resort and The Islandside Property Owners Coalition split the rental cost three ways.
If needed, the planning board will also meet 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, April 8, at Temple Beth Israel, 567 Bay Isles Road.
At the meeting, the planning board will review a list of seven town code clarifications suggested by club officials, which they feel will eliminate code ambiguities and move the $400 million Islandside renovation-and-expansion project forward to a Town Commission vote next month.
