- I suspect the same amount of garbage collected only once a week would cost the same in dump fees. More trucks or more trips perhaps as well. And, for those who don't travel or eat out, the need may indeed be present for twice weekly pickups. Finally, uncollected garbage in this heat would also pose an olfactory challenge to even those who make reservations for dinner, when they're not jet-setting around the world. It's twice a week for a reason.

Why does LBK need twice a week garbage pick-up? I have never experienced it elsewhere. Longboaters eat away from home more and are away on travel more than residents of most other cities. We generate less garbage, yet get it picked-up twice as often. Cut the service to once a week and save money.
