The Kiwanis Club of Longboat Key will hold its annual pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Proceeds benefit local children’s charities in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Breakfast includes a hot stack of pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and prizes.
Tickets are $7; but five tickets and get one free. Purchase tickets at the door, from Kiwanis Club members or at the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce, 5390 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Contact Wayne Swift at 383-2095.

Mar Vista dollars to benefit local teen
Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub’s walls and ceiling are covered with dollar bills, signed and decorated by patrons. Every few years the restaurant removes the bills for a good cause.
