Talk is cheap! I am still waiting for a plan more viable than Longboat Key Club's offering? The fact is there is nothing else going on to bring more visitors to Longboat Key. Tourism is on the decline and 5 star visitors will be history in the future. They will be replaced with t-shirt shops and the weekend trunk tourists. I am also still looking for all that traffic coming out of The LBK Resort with their current 218 rooms? Don't let IPOC confuse you as the traffic backed up at 5PM is not The Resorts traffic. Blaming The Club is the great deception. I also want to remind everybody that we are in peak season.. Any traffic back up at 5PM is not coming from Longboat Key Resort but going North and South. I repeat, it is not The Club's traffic..... The 218 rooms in existence at the resort plus the current condos behind the gates do not clog the roadways both behind the gates and on Gulf of Mexico drive. The offer from Longboat Key Club is a once in a lifetime offer. Longboat Key is in desperate need of get it done leaders with a vision for the future.

Well, I believe that the Longboat Key Club is trying to do exactly that. The Club has publicly professed what it can bring to this island if allowed to update and redevelop it's present operation. It seems everyone is only concerned about updating the present building codes with absolutely no regard that The Club is patiently waiting and holds in it's hands the "golden egg" for catapulting LBK into the next positive decade! What is IPOC prepared to bring to this island? What monies will IPOC offer toward the island economy? Will they match The Key Club with 5 to 6 Million in permit fee money? If so, that would be really cool! Let's get down to the nitty gritty...they are only concerned about their views!!! Is IPOC willing to pay the town over a million dollars in advertising fees every year to help "keep Longboat Longboat?" The Longboat Key Club spends that easily in a year's time. Again, how about if IPOC matches that advertising expense every year also? That would be pretty sweet too! Oh, and by the way, how about the beach renourishment? IPOC, you can also match the club on what they pay to renourish your beach that you have the luxury of looking out upon.
