Citing a lack of available commissioners, the Longboat Key Town Commission rescheduled a special pension workshop that was scheduled for today for 1 p.m., Monday, March 7, at Town Hall.
The pension workshops will be held up to twice per month to help the Town Commission sift through alternatives for the town’s three pension plans, which contain more than $20 million in unfunded liabilities.

- When you include 2010 the pension liability our shortage is more like 30 million plus, as the assumption of an 8% return on invested pension funds is a pipe dream.
