Mote Marine manatees Hugh and Buffett might want to try their luck in Vegas.
For the sixh consecutive year, resident manatee Buffett accurately picked the Super Bowl winner, selecting the Baltimore Ravens to win Super Bowl XLVII during a training session the Friday before game day.
Hugh also picked the Ravens as the winner, making it the fourth time in six years in which he wagered on the winning team.
The manatees made their bets by swimming to special targets marked with team logos. Both swam right to the Ravens, and Buffett nudged the target twice.
Aside from being avid sports fans, Hugh and Buffett are considered two of the world’s most highly trained manatees. Their training assists in their veterinary care and allows the manatees to participate in research about their senses and other sensory abilities.
