The Florida Department of Transportation is in the process of painting New Pass Bridge.
S&D Industrial Painting began work on the paint deck and steel sections of New Pass Bridge last week. Painting is done from barges in the water and from the bridge deck. The main channel for boat access remains open, but boaters should use caution near barges.
Some work will be done from the roadway and bridge, and motorists should expect possible intermittent lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting. Please use caution while traveling near these work zones. Project completion is expected in late spring 2013.
