Stakeholders participate in planning charrette
Date: January 30, 2012

Longboat Key residents, business owners and other stakeholders came together Saturday for a workshop and planning charrette at the Longboat Key Center for the Arts, a Division of Ringling College of Art and Design. The group discussed ideas for the Key’s north end.
Approximately 40 particpated in the community-based planning effort announced in December by the Longboat Key Revitalization Task Force. The effort began with New College students, led by Professor David Brain, conducting one-on-one interviews.
In the next phase, a team of local architects and design professionals will hold a sketching session to visually represent the ideas generated through the charrette. A community meeting to present the ideas to the public will take place in February.
