Longboat Key residents along with residents of Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach can dispose of household hazardous waste and e-scrap materials from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gulf side parking and access road of Coquina Beach.
Residents can dispose of solvents, latex-and-oil base paints, pesticides, household chemicals, ammunition, flares, waste oil, propane tanks, fluorescent lamps, mercury-containing devices, pool chemicals, old gasoline and batteries. Televisions, computer components, copiers, video and audio equipment and small electrical appliances will also be collected at the event.
Radioactive materials, such as smoke detectors, and bio-hazardous materials are not accepted.
Small businesses can bring hazardous waste and e-scrap materials to the event but will have to pay the onsite contractor for disposal.
