- The raw statistics are a little misleading. Yes, perhaps 102 businesses have closed. But some new businesses have replaced some of those that have closed. For example, Maureen's closed but Cafe on the Bay took its place. Cafe on the Bay closed but Lazy Lobster took its place. Orange Blossom closed but several restaurants have succeeded it, including the Re Federico currently there. Walter's points are well made overall but some qualifications are needed to bring things into perspective. Overall he's right on. We need reinvestment in business as an island community. Let the Key Cub expansion happen!
