11:05 a.m. — 600 block of Bayport Way. Larceny. A woman told police that someone stole bicycles valued at $600 each from her condominium’s storage area.
Have a seat
12:04 p.m. — 3200 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive (GMD). Rescue. A woman told police she fell off a bike and hurt her back because the seat on the bicycle, which she obtained from a condominium office, was loose. Police did not think the seat was loose enough to cause a fall.
Out of cash
7:15 p.m. — 4200 block of GMD. Lost Property. Three women told police that someone stole $980 in cash from their purses while they were at the beach. The purses were in their hotel room.
6:46 a.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Noise Disturbance. A man who spoke little English was informed he couldn’t use a leaf blower in the Avenue of the Flowers parking lot before 8 a.m.
Close to home
4:47 p.m. — 2900 block of GMD. Civil Disturbance. A man called police to report that his landlord was giving him conflicting eviction information. His landlord, who is also his mother, first told him he had to move out by May 1. A later e-mail said he had to be out by April 19. And on April 15, he received an e-mail from her stating the water would be turned off April 22.
6:13 p.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road. Fire. Someone called police to report there was a fire on the beach. The fire was contained in a steel fire pit.
No dogs allowed
6:36 p.m. — 100 block of GMD. Code Enforcement. A man told police he was unaware he couldn’t take his dog to a park on the island.
Lager left behind
6:59 p.m. – 100 block of GMD. Code Enforcement. A man told police that the cold can of Heineken beer sitting nearby was not his. He then raised it to his lips and said he would drink it anyway because someone had left it behind. He was issued a written warning for drinking a beer on the beach in front of police.
7:08 a.m. — 5400 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. A man was arrested for driving more than 60 miles per hour on Gulf of Mexico Drive. It was discovered the driver was a habitual traffic offender.
8:18 a.m. — 4700 block of GMD. Trespassing. Police found two teenagers sleeping on the beach. They were issued a trespass warning, and one of the teen’s mothers picked them up.
1:04 p.m. — 500 block of Sloop Lane. Vandalism. A man called police to report that his girlfriend stole his ex-girlfriend’s purse and scratched her car after finding him in bed with his ex.
Drunk driver arrested
5:23 p.m. — 6800 block of GMD. Driving Under the Influence. A man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and swerving on Gulf of Mexico Drive.
8:14 p.m. — Intersection of GMD and Shinbone Alley. Dispute. A man told police that a valet parking service hired by a neighbor for a party continued to park cars on a vacant lot he owned after he asked them not to do so. Police assisted in enforcing the man’s wishes.
9:13 p.m. — 7000 block of Bayside Drive. Trespassing. A woman told police to issue trespass warnings to two men who were fishing on her dock, even though no-trespassing signs surround the dock.
5:38 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Larceny. The manager of a grocery store told police a man ran out of his store with two packages and a magazine under his arm. The man dropped the items in the parking lot and fled in a tan van. Police found the van and pulled him over. The driver was arrested for stealing other items from the store that were in his pockets, driving with a suspended driver’s license and stealing the van he was driving. The woman in the car with him, who was on probation for auto theft, was also arrested for stealing the van.

7:31 p.m. — 800 block of Marbury Lane. Code Enforcement. A man reported that a lawn-fertilizer company employee was trying to sign up new clients in his neighborhood. Police advised the man the town does not allow such activity.

Durante dog, owner well after raccoon run-in
