5:44 p.m. — 600 block of Bayview Drive. Animal. A woman noticed a multicolored snake while watering her plants and worried it could be poisonous. Police approached the snake with a shovel, and the snake struck at it. Police killed the snake with the shovel and placed it in nearby bushes to decompose.

8:18 p.m. — Intersection of Bogey Lane and Ranger Lane. Parking. A man reported that an abandoned car had been parked on the side of the street for four days. The owner said it ran out of gas, and she had it towed to her house.
Cold case (of Coronas)
3:07 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Larceny. A grocery store employee saw a man take a cart with two cases of Corona beer past registers without paying and place them into a car in which the driver was waiting for him. A store manager wrote down the car’s license plate number. The vehicle is registered to a Homosassa woman whom police were unable to locate.
5:26 p.m. — 500 block of Ranger Lane. Harassing Phone Call. A woman told police she recently broke up with her boyfriend of five months, but he continues to text her. She believes he was in her yard watching her and her new boyfriend through the window. In text messages, the ex-boyfriend threatened to post compromising photos of the woman on the Internet. The woman said she is afraid of him because of his excessive drinking and past behavior. Police advised the woman not to respond to man’s texts and gave her information about filing a restraining order.

9:37 a.m. — Off the Key. Assist Other Town Agency. Police helped Public Works employees dismantle a hut setup on Beer Can Island that had a loveseat and chaise lounge inside.
3:50 p.m. — 2500 block of GMD. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman received a phone call from the office of a physician whom she had not seen in years. She later received a phone call from a drug store in a Michigan city that she has never visited notifying her that her prescription was ready. She asked her bank for alerts about suspicious activity.
