"When you think about theater, the end result is whether or not youâ€™ve given people good entertainment," says Patty Snyder-Atkins. "If you can move someone from one emotional state to another, youâ€™ve succeeded. Itâ€™s a delightful job."
"Iâ€™m probably one of the last stage managers to call a show from down on deck," says Snyder-Atkins of her scuffed-up backstage podium. "Problems get resolved quicker back here. I find I have a better pulse on whatâ€™s going on."
The concrete walls backstage at The Players Theatre are covered in autographs from hundreds of cast and crewmembers. One of Snyder-Atkinsâ€™s favorite illustrations is from the musical "Mame."
