530 Burns Gallery features both art and fashion, so it’s no wonder the gallery has decided to host a series of "Where Art Meets Fashion" events to promote the beauty of fashion along with its artistic design.
Collaborating with Wendy Feinstein, 530 Burns Gallery’s Nikki Sedacca and Montana Taplinger hosted the first “Where Art Meets Fashion” event Friday, April 4, at the gallery. The first to be featured in the series: artist and designer Marisu Miranda.
The designer not only creates stunning custom gowns and fashions, but also draws one-of-a-kind fashion sketches (many that gowns have been designed from) in watercolor and pastels.
“The gowns are gorgeous and I loved the sketches,” says Sedacca, “I started thinking, what a wonderful way to incorporate it all into the gallery.”
The event took place throughout the weekend, attracting a number of clients to the gallery to see and purchase Miranda’s designs. A portion of the proceeds from the event benefited Asolo Repertory Theatre.
