The American Red Cross Southwest Florida Chapter will collect monetary donations for earthquake victims in Haiti at this weekend’s St. Armands Circle Art Festival, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The more than 150 artists participating in the weekend festival will collectively display more than $15 million in artwork, with pieces ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures.
“Festival goers responded very generously at the previous art shows donating more than $20,000 in the past few weeks alone,” said festival promoter Howard Alan, in a prepared statement. “Our art events are very popular and attract thousands of people. I believe the St. Armands Circle Art Festival will be another great opportunity for the American Red Cross to raise even more money for the people of Haiti who truly need our help.”
