The Braden River and Manatee East Little League 11-and-12-year-old All-Stars opened their District 26 All-Star Tournament July 7. Braden River defeated North River National 13-1 while Manatee East defeated Manatee West 6-3. Manatee East and Braden River are currently tied with Manatee West for first place with 4-1 records. The Majors tournament runs through July 16.

The Manatee East Little League 10-and-11-year-old All-Stars defeated Braden River 7-6 and 15-2 to capture the District 26 Championship July 8-9.

The Manatee East 9-and-10-year-old Little League All-Stars defeated North River National 9-6 to capture the District 26 Championship July 10. Josh Raimon and Connor Knapp each pitched three innings and allowed three runs for Manatee East, which finished the season 8-1.

Nearly 60 boys and girls ages 6-16 perfected their swings during the 2010 Mustang Golf! Camp June 21-25 at Rosedale Golf & Country Club. Participants perfected their skills while practicing on the range, putting green and other short game practice areas. Following the camp, each of the junior golfers played a round of golf at Rosedale and then enjoyed an awards presentation and banquet. Lakewood Ranch High will host its second golf camp Aug. 2-7.
