Braden River soccer kicks it into high gear

More than 200 boys and girls youth soccer teams from across the state converged on 25 fields at the Sarasota Polo Club Sept. 5-7 for the SCI Labor Day Cup 2009 presented by Nike. The Braden River Soccer Club had 10 different teams competing in the annual soccer tournament, ranging in age from Under-10 to U18/19. The Braden River Rage U12 girls team and U16 boys team both were crowned champions, while the Braden River Premier U10 boys team finished as the runner-up in its division.

The Braden River High football team opened its season with a 43-14 victory over Lakewood Ranch. The Pirates remain a perfect 3-0 in the rivalry series.
East Manatee Junior Midget squad falls to New Tampa
