Pirates unveil minor league name and logo

Major and minor league players from the Pittsburgh Pirates' organization were on hand to help unveil the name and logo of the Pirates' new Minor League franchise team during a community block party Dec. 15 on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch. The new Pirates Florida State League team will now be known as the Bradenton Marauders. Following the announcement, players greeted fans, signed autographs and posed for pictures.

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
