The Lakewood Ranch High JV wrestling team finished second at the 2009 Manatee JV Dual Meet Tournament Nov. 21 at Manatee High School.
The Mustangs competed in pool B where they defeated St. Pete Catholic High 60-18 in the opening round. Lakewood defeated Lemon Bay 48-36 in the second round and defeated Bloomingdale 51-12 in the fourth round.
As the winner of pool B, Lakewood wrestled Manatee for the championship. The Mustangs fell to the Hurricanes 68-18, finishing second in the eight-team competition.
Evan Dipsiner 112 lbs, Kyle Carter 119 lbs, Josh Alvarez 125 lbs and Bailey Seaver 145 lbs went undefeated in the tournament.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
