The 2009 US Figure Skating National Championship Silver Medalist pairs team of Caydee Denney and Jeremy Barrett finished fourth at the 2009 NHK Trophy Nov. 5-8 in Tokyo, Japan.
The pair, who trains at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex, had a strong showing for the United States in one of the first competitions of the season. The NHK is part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating.
Denney and Barrett are currently on pace to be one of two pairs teams representing the United States in the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. The pair, who has only been skating together for 15 months, trains under Lyndon Johnston, a two-time Olympian, Jim Peterson, the Professional Skating Association Developmental Coach of the Year and Allison Smith.
Denney and Barrett will return to the ice in Skate Canada Nov. 19-22 in Kitchener, Ontario.
