The Lakewood Ranch High volleyball team defeated Tampa Sickles 25-16, 25-11, 25-17 in a Class 6A-Region 3 semifinal Nov. 6.
Mariah Robertson paced the Lady Mustangs with eight kills and 12 digs. Ashlyn Falahee added nine kills and two aces. Nicole Grant had six kills and two blocks. Emily Ruple finished with four kills and five digs. Lauren Owens added four kills, one ace and three digs. Jordan Wopinski had two kills and nine digs. Ali Milbourn finished with two kills, one ace and 27 assists.
With the win, Lakewood will now advance to the regional finals where they will travel to face Winter Haven at 2 p.m. Nov. 10.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
