Braden River High senior Alexis Cullen won the Blue Streak Invitational Oct. 20 in Avon Park, crossing the finish line in 20:19.00.
The Lady Pirates finished third overall with 70 points. Fellow senior Madison Daunt finished eighth in 21:10.00 followed by senior Bridget Lanier (16th, 22:16.00), sophomore Mia Wiederkehr (17th, 21:16.10) and freshman Kristen Breitweiser (28th, 24:13).
The Braden River boys cross-country team finished eighth. Matthew McFall finished fifth in 17:14.00 to lead the way for the Pirates.

East County resident and local attorney Patricia Petruff, a senior partner of the Dye, Deitrich, Petruff & St. Paul law firm in Bradenton, has been awarded the 2014 William C. Grimes Award for Lifetime Achievement in Community Service.
