The Lakewood Ranch High boys golf team set a new team record with an 18-under par 270 to capture the Class 3A-District 14 title Oct. 14 in Venice.
The Mustangs finished 23 shots ahead of district runner-up Riverview.
Danny Walker shot 65 to win medalist honors. Ramsey Touchberry was second with a 66. Luke Miller finished third with a 67. Kelly Sun (72) and Charlie Sun (74) rounded out the top 8.
With the win, Lakewood earned a berth in the Class 3A-Region 5 tournament Oct. 21, at Venetian Country Club in Venice.
