Lakewood Ranch girls win Manasota Track Club Invitational

The Lakewood Ranch High girls cross-country team scored 45 points to win the Manasota Track Club Invitational Oct. 13.
Kristin Zarrella finished second in 20:02.89 to pace the way for the Lady Mustangs. Natalie Novak finished sixth in 20:21.69 followed by Michelle Last (10th, 20:52.19), Katie Wray (13th, 20:55.48), Julia Ortiz (14th, 20:57.67), Elizabeth Chandler (22nd, 21:45.90) and Emily Perez (41st, 22:42.66).
Braden River’s Alexis Cullen finished 18th in 21:27.51.
The Lakewood Ranch High boys cross-country team scored 217 points to finish seventh. Mitch Arnold finished 25th in 17:48.36 to pace the way for the Mustangs.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
