The Braden River High volleyball team defeated Palmetto 25-12, 25-16, 25-20 Oct. 9.
Sophomore Siena Kelley paced the way for the Lady Pirates (13-9, 2-2) with 14 kills, 10 digs and four aces in two games. Sophomore Cassidy Barich added eight kills, 14 digs and seven aces in two games. Senior Demi-Shay Watchorn finished with 35 assists and six digs.
Braden River returns to action tonight versus Charlotte in its final district match.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
