The Lakewood Ranch High girls cross-country team finished fifth at the flrunners.com Invitational 13 Race of Champions Sept. 29 in Titusville.
The Lady Mustangs scored 178 points to finish behind Estero (75), Fort Walton Beach (137), John A. Ferguson (147) and Oak Hall School (147).
Kristin Zarrella finished 25th in 19:16.60 to pace the way for Lakewood. Natalie Novak finished 34th in 19:44.00 followed by Katie Wray (44th, 19:58.90), Michelle Last (66th, 20:24.80), Julia Ortiz (67th, 20:25.30) and Elizabeth Chandler (89th, 21:07.20).

Mitch Arnold finished 17th in 16:50.10 to lead the way for the Mustangs. George Dabbiero followed finishing 86th in 17:59.60.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
