Lady Pirates extend district winning streak

The Braden River High volleyball team remains undefeated in the district after defeating Dixie Hollins 3-0 Sept. 24.
The Lady Pirates beat the Lady Rebels 25-12, 25-16 and 25-19 to improve their record to 9-2 (4-0 Class 4A-District 10). Alanna Condren had eight kills, Sydney Jordan had 12 services points with 10 aces and Courtney McDevitt had 17 assists to lead the way for Braden River.
The Lady Pirates will return to action Sept. 29 versus Palmetto.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
