The Lakewood Ranch High boys golf team’s streak of 117 consecutive victories came to an end Sept. 15 at the Olympia Titan Invitational at Hammock Beach’s Ocean Course in Palm Coast.
The Mustangs finished seven shots behind The Benjamin School and Ponte Vedra, suffering their first losses since finishing as the state runner-up in 2010. Ramsey Touchberry shot 76 to lead the way for Lakewood. Ben Boulch shot 77 followed by Luke Miller, Spence Schultz and Danny Walker who all shot 78.
Prior to their third-place finish, the Mustangs won the Baker Invitational for the third straight season.
Lakewood shot a 7-over par 295, beating nine teams in the tournament, including runner-up Vero Beach by seven shots.
Touchberry finished third individually with a 73. Barry McDonnell, Miller and Schultz all shot 74.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
