The Braden River High girls cross country team scored 87 points to finish third at the Bradenton Runner’s Club Invitational Sept. 15.
Alexis Cullen paced the way for the Lady Pirates, finishing third in 21:37.62. Madison Daunt finished fifth in 22:22.68 followed by Mia Wiederkehr (25th, 23:45.34), Bridget Lanier (30th, 24:03.02) and Asia Borman (32nd, 24:14.11)
The Out-of-Door Academy finished fifth with 119 points.
Carling Landeche finished seventh in 22:42.93 to lead the way for the Lady Thunder. Caitlyn Camire finished 15th in 23:13.99 followed by Peyton Vaughn (31st, 24:07.40), Chloe Ruppert (36th, 24:24.18) and Annika Lange (45th, 25:31.84).

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
