Lakewood Ranch boys golf team wins season opener

The Lakewood Ranch High boys golf team shot a combined 308 to win its season opener Sept. 1 at Prestwick Country Club in Daytona Beach.
The Mustangs defeated last year’s state runner-up Port Orange Spruce Creek, which shot a combined 318.
Sophomore Spence Schultz shot 75 to earn medalist honors for the Mustangs. Ramsey Touchberry shot 77 followed by Barry McDonnell (78) and Charlie Sun (78).
The Mustangs open at home this afternoon in a quad match at Rosedale Golf & Country Club.

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
