The Out-of-Door Academy football team made impressive strides during their Preseason Kickoff Classic against visiting Clearwater Calvary Christian.
Junior Chris Ragone returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and senior linebacker Sam Logan blocked a punt and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown to lead the way for the Thunder.
ODA will open its 2009 regular season at home Sept. 4 versus The First Academy. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
