Lakewood Ranch High School alum and current University of South Florida Sun Doll Tiffany Blevins has been chosen to represent USF and the Big East in the first round of the Athlon Sports Sideline Spirit Competition.
The Web-based competition features more than 30 cheerleaders and dancers from throughout the country. Every three weeks, Athlon selects one person from each of the major college conferences. Photos and profiles are displayed on the Web site, and visitors can vote on their favorite. The contest runs through the end of the regular season in December.
Blevins will be competing in the first round, which runs Aug. 29 through Sept. 18, against girls from Troy, Michigan State, Alabama, Oregon, Boston College and Alabama. Prizes include $2,000, a JVC HD Everio Camera and a JVC Micro System with iPod Dock.
Those interested in voting for Blevins must first register at AthlonSports.com. Votes also can be submitted via Athlon's Facebook page. Users can vote up to 20 times a day, per account, at the Web site, and up to 10 times a day on Facebook.
