The Braden River Soccer Club will hold registration for fall recreational soccer in its clubhouse, located behind Lakewood Ranch High School, 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., at Lakewood Ranch Park.
Registration, which is open to all youths ages 4-13, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 1 and 15 and 1-3 p.m., Aug. 16 and 29.
Additionally, the Braden River Soccer Club will be starting a Senior Soccer program for youth players ages 14-17. Participants will play a 10-game schedule, beginning in September and ending in December.

Members and guests of the Lakewood Ranch Women’s Club ventured Dec. 4 to Orlando, to view holiday decorations at the Grand Floridian and to have lunch at Downtown Disney.
The Play Readers of the Asolo Repertory Theatre Guild were in fine form as they entertained at the Art Association of Palm-Aire’s opening winter luncheon with “Fractured Fairy Tales.”
Catapulting into first place
Seven Manatee County elementary schools competed in the countywide Technology Student Association catapult competition Nov. 16, at Southeast High School. Students built the catapults on-site.
