Pirates kicker scores at National Kicking Combine Series

Braden River High kicker Kadin Kerns recently won first place for kickoffs and second place in place kicking at the National Kicking Combine Series Regional Competition June 27 in Tampa.
Kerns averaged 61.5 yards per kickoff and connected on 90% of his field goal attempts. With his solid performance, Kerns was invited to participate in the semi-finals Aug. 1. If Kerns makes the cut next month then he will be invited to the National Championship event in January.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
