Pirates to hold hoops camp
The Braden River High School basketball coaching staff will host a summer hoops camp for students entering grades 2-12, beginning June 15.
The summer basketball camp is designed to provide players with the fundamentals necessary to better aid them in their individual development. With the assistance of the Braden River High coaching staff and players, campers will participate in individual instruction, skills stations, competitions and team games. Awards will be presented at the end of each day for the “Camper of the Day,” “Hustle Award” and “Best Attitude.”
Camps will be held Monday through Thursday, June 15 through July 2 at Braden River High, 6545 State Road 70 East. Boys and Girls camps for students entering grades 2-8 will be held from 8:30 a.m. to Noon with camps for students entering grades 9-12 following from 12:30-3:30 p.m.
The cost of the camp is $285 for all three weeks, which includes a camp T-shirt and a basketball. One-week ($120) and two-week ($195) rates are also available.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
