The Sarasota Scullers will host two-week summer rowing camps for teenagers ages 13-16 this summer.
Summer rowing camps will provide teens with the opportunity to learn a new sport, meet new friends and spend time outdoors while having fun, staying fit and becoming part of one of the Florida’s growing team sports.
Students will learn and participate in all aspects of rowing and sculling with professional instruction, coaching and a curriculum that combines fun, fitness, skill training and team building. A mini regatta will take place on the last Friday of each camp session.
The camps will be held from 7:45-11 a.m., June 15-26 (registration deadline June 5); July 6-17 (registration deadline June 26); and July 20-31 (registration deadline July 10). The cost of the rowing camp is $225 per session with a limit of 30 teenagers eligible to sign up for each session.
Camps will be offered at two locations:
North County: 2500 Honore Ave., Sarasota (at Nathan Benderson Park)
South County: 800 Blackburn Point Road, Osprey (at Blackburn Point Park)
All rowing equipment, coaching and instruction will be provided. Participants are responsible for water, snacks, sunscreen, a hat or visor, bathing suit, sunglasses, towel, dry clothes and aqua socks or Tevas.
