Manatee Cal Ripken Baseball recently announced its 8U All-Star team.
More than 20 kids tried out for the team over a two-day period. Players were chosen based on their ability to take ground balls, catch popups, hit at the plate and make defensive plays in the infield.
This year’s 8U All-Stars include:
Christopher Conboy, Justin Cook, Alex Heintz, Judson Hildreth, Ashton Lamb, Jason McReynolds, Jack Muller, Ryan O’Sullivan, Dylan Reiser, Tristan Schellinger, Rylen Stockton, Jaden Stockton and Lucas Viera.
“It was a great two days and we had a lot of talented kids come out,” manager Lee Heintz says. “I wish I could have taken them all.”
The team will travel to Ocala in June for the Cal Ripken District Tournament for a chance to advance to the state tournament in July in West Palm Beach.
