Brittany Kilduff allowed just one hit in five innings as the third-seeded Lakewood Ranch High girls softball team defeated Charlotte 10-0 in the opening round of the Class 5A-District 11 tournament April 20.
Becca Slowik led the way for the Lady Mustangs at the plate going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs. Stacie Nelson followed going 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and three runs scored.
“One through nine everybody always hits,” Lakewood coach Joe Dowling said. “(Everyone) always asks ‘Where’s your weak spot?’ and I always tell them ‘You find it.’”
Lakewood will return to action April 23 when they face second-seed Venice in the distirct semifinals.
