Custer Capital holds off Wildcat

Custer Capital defeated Wildcat 12-8 to win the Robert A. Uihlein Jr. Memorial Cup March 24.

Gilberto Junqueira scored four goals and Juan Martinez-Baez scored three goals to lead the way for Custer Capital.

Nicolai Galindo scored four goals to pace Wildcat. James Miller added three goals.

Galindo was named the Most Valuable Professional, and Carlos Baez was named the Most Valuable Amateur.

Martinez-Baez won the Best Playing Pony Award for his horse Cardineyosa’s performance in the fifth chukker.

Teams return to action at 1 p.m. March 31, in the All Children’s Hospital Guild Cup.

Occurs when two riders attempt to push each other off the line of the ball.
