The Braden River High softball team defeated Manatee 3-0 in non-district action March 9.
Senior Trisha Zuknick and freshmen Hannah Loyer and Courtney Mirabella combined for the shutout, allowing one hit and four walks while striking out nine.
Loyer went 1-for-1 with a walk and an RBI and Mirabella went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the way for the Lady Pirates at the plate. Zuknick went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Lauren Powell went 1-for-2 with a run scored; and Nicole Tira went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Braden River returns to action tomorrow night at Sarasota.
