The Cardinal Mooney High boys and girls lacrosse teams both posted wins Feb. 20.
The boys team defeated Sarasota Military Academy 10-3 in its season-opener. Adam Scalisi, Drew Morgan, Nate Bobbitt and Alex Sobczk each scored two goals for the Cougars. Gunnar Grubbs and Reagan Griffith each added a goal.
On the girls side, Cardinal Mooney defeated St. Stephen’s 14-3. Bridget Walsh scored a hat trick to lead the way for the Lady Cougars. Blair Brannen and Hailey McCurdy each scored two goals. Caroline Krupa, Nina Bracciano, Lauren Telford, Brooke Devine and Lindsay Savigne each scored a goal. Goalkeeper Victoria Krupa had eight saves.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
