Braden River High senior Trevon Young signed a national letter-of-intent this morning to play football for the University of Florida.
Young, who plays football and basketball, received scholarship offers for both sports, but ultimately decided to pursue football after weighing all of his options.
“It’s a great time for me and my family,” Young says. “Education was a big part of (my decision), and at the end of the day I think football is the best for me (moving) on into the future.”
Young, who plans to study sports medicine, played on the Pirates offensive and defensive lines, but he could be a tight end or an offensive lineman for the Gators.
“I’ve got great feet, and I think I’ll be able to catch the ball in space,” says Young, who aspires to be a tight end.
