Registration for the 25th Annual Gulf Coast Senior Games is now underway and continues through Jan. 31.
The games will take place Feb. 18 to Feb. 23 at various venues throughout Manatee and Sarasota Counties. The games are designed to promote and maintain health and wellness to local residents ages 50 and up.
Events offered at this year’s Senior Games include archery, bowling, cycling, horseshoes, swimming and track and field, among numerous others. For a complete listing of events and times visit www.scgov.net.parksandrecreation.
To become a Gulf Coast Senior Games competitor register online at www.mymanatee.org/parks or fill out and registration form. Registration booklets are available at any Sarasota County recreation center or library.
The entry fee is $12 and includes an event T-shirt. There’s an additional fee of $3 per event to compete. Some events may also have an additional facility fee.
The Gulf Coast Senior Games is a local qualifier for the 2014 Florida Senior Games State Championships to be held Dec. 6 to Dec. 14 in Lee County. For more information call 861-5000.
