The Lakewood Ranch High girls soccer team captured its third consecutive district title with a 2-0 victory over Manatee in the Class 4A-District 11 championship game Jan. 21.
Sophomore forward scored both goals for the Lady Mustangs in the first half off assists by Tyler Gordon.
With the win, Lakewood will host to Barron Collier in a Class 4A-Region 3 quarterfinal Jan. 24. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

East County resident and local attorney Patricia Petruff, a senior partner of the Dye, Deitrich, Petruff & St. Paul law firm in Bradenton, has been awarded the 2014 William C. Grimes Award for Lifetime Achievement in Community Service.
