Cardinal Mooney girls fall in district title game

The top-seeded Cardinal Mooney High girls soccer team fell 4-2 to Bishop Verot in the Class 2A-District 11 championship Jan. 18.
Anna Brusco and Rose Amato each scored goals for the Lady Cougars.
As the district runner-up, Cardinal Mooney traveled to Benjamin High in West Palm Beach for a regional quarterfinal match Jan. 23. The winner will play the winner of the other regional quarterfinal between Bishop Verot and Cardinal Newman. Be sure to check YourObserver.com to see how the Lady Cougars fared.

Dancing group to host fundraiser

Members of KC and the Sunshine Dancers, a group of Manatee County dancers ages 8 to 20, will show off their dancing skills in jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance from 7 to 9 p.m. May 28, as the group holds a show titled "Breaking Ground."
